CHILDREN OF HARLEM
Taking photos and videos of the children in Harlem brings me so much joy. I call many of them my “little friends.”
Children washing their teddy bear. They were so careful and washed him so thoroughly!
Halloween Day.
The younger boy had never been to the park before, so the older boy took him while the father was playing dominoes. It was his first time going to play with the other kids instead of sitting with his father.
The little boy in red has now grown up to be a big boy and goes to the 145th park himself while his father is busy playing dominoes.
When Gordon Parks looked at this photograph, he told me “I wished I took this photograph”. I was so proud.
