HONORS
In 1991, after my book “Do or Die” was published by Penguin Books, the French Ambassy in New York honored me with a party, with champagne and great food. The boxers and their trainers were invited and were very impressed by the celebration. At this party I was awarded a great honor, the “Legion d’honeur Medal”. Which is the highest French decoration and one of the most famous in the world. For two centuries, it has been presented on behalf of the Head of State to reward the most deserving citizens in all fields of activity.
It was an unforgettable event attended by many dear friends. Among whom were Gordon Parks and Mark Breland.
I was so proud that Gordon Parks came to the party!
