GORDON PARKS

was an American photographer, musician, writer and film director, who became prominent in issues of civil rights, poverty, African-Americans, and in glamour photography.

At the French Embassy, they granted me show for the release of my book, Do or Die, and awarded me with the Légion d'honneur. I was so happy to share the party with all the fighters and trainers that came to the party. It was a big party with a lot of drinks, and food, and fun. I thank Gordon so much for coming to the party to give me support.

A big thanks to the Cultural Atache

He decied to apply to the Guggenheim Foundation for me to get a Grant from them.

"You cannot photograph a bigot and say' "this is a bigot,' because they have a way of looking just like everybody else. What the camera had to do was expose the evils of racism, the evils of poverty, the discrimination and bigotry by showing the people who suffered most under it."
